liver abscess
-pyogenic, amoebic
-suspect liver absces
-do us
-in ultrasound: hypoechoic : if single : amoebic, if multiple locules: pyogenic
abx: size less that 6cm
size abscess more than 6 cm: percutanoues drainage
c/i for percuatneous drainage:
1. ruptured abscess
2. inacessible site, dome of liver
3. non liquiefied liver abscess
treatment: cefobid, flagyl (flagyl also cover amoebiasis)
